Diva is my second Greater Swiss Mountain Dog and my first home-bred female. She was born on 24th November 2008 in a litter of 9 puppies, 4 females and 5 males. She is the offspring of my Nuba and a Dutch stud dog, Baron (Laris Corbett Canis v.d. Zuiderwaard). Nuba was already in the beginning of her gestation when she became Austrian Bundessieger and Vice European winner for the year 2008, so Diva achieved great show successes even before she was born!

Diva was the most lively and self-confident puppy in the litter. She was the one who managed to climb the walls of the whelping box first. She could jump so high out of the box that she almost reached your face when you would bow down to greet the puppies. She explored her surroundings with such enthusiasm and without any fear. She was really eager to fight with the plushy giraffe in the whelping box and show all her fearless and "in-charge" character. When the whole litter went to sleep, she was still full of energy. Her appearance reminded me so much of Nuba, that I decided to keep her.

Although she is very similar to Nuba, she has her own big personality. She could be more stubborn and capricious and doesn't show so much "love to please" tendency, but on the other hand she is also very gentle and devoted, playful and curious. She loves to cuddle in the bed (which is allowed only on special occasions). Sometimes she could be very possessive of my things (for example bag with her food inside) and she will not allow other dogs (except those she knows very good) to come near. Diva is always ready to play, she has tons of energy, is faster and also much more agile than Nuba. Running and jumping around are her greatest pleasures, and chasing Nuba around the trees is her speciality. More kilometers of running is a piece of cake for her. She loves to be around us all the time, and is both extremely friendly and affectionate. If you're not careful, she climbs in your lap and covers your face with her big sloppy kisses (she must be convinced she still has 10 kg and is small puppy)! While Nuba convinced me that Swissies are not such barkers, as it is said in many books, Diva showed me there is an exception to every rule! She is very vocal and has a lot to say. Not in a bad way, but when she is enthusiastic about something (walk, food), her tail won't stop wagging and she will bark to show all her happiness. She is very stable and she is not afraid of anything, even not a fireworks. Like Nuba, she is completely open to people. She adores long walks, playing with her doggy friends and riding in the car and there is no bigger punishemt for her than sometimes having to wait at home.

In 2009 we started also with obedience trainings. We were exercising tricks and stuff like that also before, but "real training" (mostly bacause of my laziness) started when she was almost 1 year old. She has a high food drive and she can learn very fast. She is capable of exceptional concentration and has remarkable physical abilities. Till now we finished exam from obedience with behaviour test in the city (meeting bikers, runners, other people, other dogs) and writing exam for the owner (Bbh), Rally obedience 1 exam (RO1) and Rally obedience 2 exam (RO2). We participated also on few RO competitions, but more exams and competitions are planned in the future.

In 2010 she had her screenenings dons. She was X-rayed and her health results are all perfect. Same as 6 of her siblings (who are screened till now), she is HD A/A, ED 0/0 and OCD free. She also has eye examination done (ECVO specialist). In October 2010 she successfully pass breeding examination and that was the last condition for her to be allowed to go into the breeding. She will be the part of our breeding program in the future. She is the product of a very well considered breeding combination and is one of the steps toward the goals I have set for breeding Swissies for the future.
